Seized: The Pipe Woman Chronicles BY: Lynne Cantwell

Synopsis

Naomi has a pretty sweet life. Respected as a skilled mediator, she has an almost uncanny knack for getting people on both sides of a dispute to agree. And her handsome boyfriend Brock has just proposed to her. But a white buffalo calf is bowing to her in her dreams. And who is the Native American man who has been following her around? Naomi doesn't know it, but things are about to change...

My Review

Ok so at first the cover threw me off and then the title really threw me off I'm glad that I did give this book a chance it's like mythology meet's Native American tales.  I really enjoyed it after I got into it. However it did take me somewhat a bit to finish it I think that's because I have a dead line, which just tells my brain to read slower I don't really know lol.  It was weird at first I really didn't understand where the hole Pipe calf buffalo woman came from and in a way it took me a while to get to the part that made sense where it came from and who she was. When the story started explaining more it was great.

I really like Naomi she started into everything open to the different outcomes that would come her way. I so did not like Brock one bit and was very happy that Naomi and her best friend Shannon catch him cheating it's all over then. Naomi then falls for Joseph Curtis this hott Indian guy from the Sweat thing that they went to. Naomi's mother I think was in the wrong for keeping that heritage away from her but she had good reasons. I'm just glad that all that top of the line schooling that Naomi did is paying off with the Norse God. In fact it worked out very well which is why the Pipe woman had choosen Naomi to help.

Naomi has this vision she is suppose to complete with the help of friends she does a great job of it so far. The characters are all strong in their own way and that is what makes this story great, that and the mythology mixing with the Native American tales. I haven't read a book like this before and I have to say I liked it. I felt like it was getting in touch with my Native American side which like Naomi is hidden but I do at least know about mine.It was great I enjoyed the funny parts and the really let's be serious parts it made the story go smoothly. Would I read the next one..hmmm... maybe, I mean this one did take me a bit to read, but it did really well explaining things that were going on  with each character right down to the emotions. Which I haven't read to many stories like that.
