Review: The Devil's Tattoo By: Nicole R. Taylor

Synopsis

The Highway to Hell or the Stairway to Heaven?

Zoe Granger picked up her first guitar the day her heart was smashed into a billion pieces. It was a way to keep her mind off her inevitable downward spiral, but music soon became her escape. She's been burned too many times to tell and is just happy to coast through life, never putting herself out there. That's until her best friend Dee suggests they start a band and suddenly she finds herself not just a part of it, but fronting the whole outfit.

They call themselves The Devil's Tattoo and when they release their debut EP, it rockets to the top of the charts and it's like an overnight fairytale. Contracts, photo shoots, royalties and interviews are heaped onto the shy Zoe and it's like she's finally found her place. Then comes the phone call that changes everything. They've been asked to co-headline a tour with one of the hottest bands of the moment, The Stabs and Zoe will never be the same again.

Will Strickland is one fourth of the hottest indie rock band to ever grace the airwaves. He's the bass player in The Stabs, hot as hell and could have his pick of any girl that flings herself at him. But he's only got eyes for Zoe and she has no idea why he'd bother. She's got one hell of a trust issue and an attitude to boot and Will seems to be the one who wants to tame her, but is he game enough?

The Devil's Tattoo and The Stabs go on the road and it's either going to be a highway to hell or a stairway to heaven. Only time will tell who will come out on top and Zoe's determined to do it without getting her heart broken… again.

My Review

OK, so at first I wasn't to for sure about this book I thought it was just going to talk about music and what not, well it shocked the hell out of me!! I actually enjoyed the story. It was a hole different kind of love story that was well written and thought out about. It has 2 points of view which I have been reading a lot of those lately and just falling in love with those not only do we get one side of the Rock/ Love story but we get 2!! For me this story didn't take long to read once I really was getting into it, I mean you have such strong characters in all of them you'd think it would be over powering but in the end it wasn't. The hole theme of the story didn't change at all it was actually great it was a rock girl falling in love at yeah I'll say it first sight. Which I kinda want to say that really doesn't happen in real life :)

So you have the character's Zoe this amazing young women whose been hurt a lot and has over come that hurt by falling in love with Will Sutherland. He changes her world around for the better as he himself is getting over the bad Sh** in his life. Dee the best friend of Zoe how will do anything to keep her happy and make sure no one and I mean no one hurts her again even Will. Chris and Frank make up Zoe's other band mates that are more like family to her. They each bring greatness to Zoe. That's who makes up the great band The Devil's Tattoo's. Will Sutherland this hottie in the band called Stabs, has his own issues but moves past them fast for Zoe he too falls in love at first sight. He is this great guy who tries to make everyone else happy at his own expense. Pete, Will's best bud he in this band too he tries to keep the peace with everyone :) also have 2 other band mates but they didn't really make that many appearance's in the story.

Well if you haven't read this yet I recommend to add it to your TBR list, I thought the Author did a great job capturing all the characters and making sure that you fall in Love with Zoe and Will. I for one will be reading this again in the future it was great, nice Australia book for once I haven't had  a chance to read to many of those they all seem to be about new york or Chicago or some other famous place on this earth. It was very different though and took me to the first 100 pages to actually get into it but  once I did, I didn't want to put it down, yes it was that good. I 'm just hoping that their will be another one some day in the future I'm kinda dieing to know what happens to Will & Zoe!! That's all up to the author though.
