Review: Skater Boy and My Skater Boy (X-Treme Boy Series) BY: Kay Manis Blog Tour

~What's The Book About?~

For 25 year old attorney, Hindley Hagen, life is all about staying one step ahead of the game. Avoiding surprises and keeping people at a distance is the only way she has to protect herself from the painful scars and shattered memories of her past. When Hindley is offered a new position at her prestigious Austin law firm as sports agent for pro skateboarder, Rory Gregor, she’s ready for the new challenge but completely unprepared for the man who captures her heart. Suddenly, Hindley is thrust into a world where protecting all their secrets could cost her everything; her family, her career, and maybe even her life.

Professional skateboarder and X Games royalty, Rory Gregor knows what it’s like to be at the top. But after two years of bad decisions and one-night-stands, he’s having to make a comeback he never anticipated. Hiring a new agent may be what his team thinks he needs to rebuild his career, but what if it costs him his heart in the process? Just when he thinks he’s posed for a comeback, secrets from his past threaten to ruin his chance for gold and a new love. In a sport where trust means everything, this time... it may not be enough.

~My Thoughts~

This story has great POVs their was 2 the hole story and no it didn't make things complicated it was really nice. The different POVs really made the story POP. It had it's own way of moving the story along it didn't repeat anything, in fact the POVs started off sometimes in the same scene but just looking at differently one minute Hindley would be talking then Rory and it's the same scene but no repeats of what happened.  The story really kept you interested and left you wanting more. I had a hard time putting it down.

Not the normal skateboarding story, I thought for sure it was going to be. But once I got reading it was really about 2 different people from 2 different worlds. You had Hindley who is a lawyer, from money and still independent and worked hard for where she's at in her life.  Rory is this young man who's had a very hard life and everything is always messing up around him. They say opposites attract each other in this case they really do.  In the start of this story you meet Hindley and you can tell right away that she is hiding something. Rory is this guy who's hiding things and trying to come out on top again.

During the story you find out about Rory's secret and you get this hope that you get to find out about Hindley's only to be led that you don't. To me that made no since I really was hoping to hear about it see what she and Dana are hiding. Book 2 hopefully will cover it. This is a must read romance novel it will leave your toes curled and you begging for me. While this story was really good I have to give it 4stars out of 5.

For the first time in her life, Hindley Hagen has something she’s always looked for, unconditional love. This time, he’s won more than just a gold medal, he’s captured her heart. But now, she’s trapped, caught in the snare of a man playing a deadly game. She must choose, protect the one man who’s made her come alive for the first time in her life or risk losing everything she’s worked hard for, including him. To save them both, Hindley must do the unthinkable or face a life without the one thing Rory Gregor has finally given her; hope. But protecting them means her own demons may surface and from that, there is no recovery. Hindley must learn the hard way, in love and life, there is no such thing as a safe secret.

Trust isn’t something that comes naturally to Rory Gregor. With Hindley Hagen by his side, he’s skating better than ever, securing deals that could make them both rich. Yet something is off. Just as he gets inside the walls she’s constructed to guard herself, she pulls away again. She’s hiding something. But then, so is he.

As their need to protect one another grows to escalating heights with deadly consequences, will Hindley and Rory finally find the future together they so richly deserve? Or, will they discover the one thing that could destroy them both forever is actually each other? Find out in this exciting conclusion to the first book in the X-Treme Boys Series, Skater Boy.

~My Thoughts~

May contain some spoilers

I didn't think that this story could get any better, But it did. It started off right where book 1 left off at and I was really happy about that. Means my mind didn't have to work over time in trying to remember what the hell happened lol. Yea right I was so wrapped up in this story that I couldn't/didn't do anything else until I finished this story out. Rory became this super hero protector in my eyes and I believe he turned out to be every women's dream man!!! In the end this turned out to be a story that I loved. However I will get to the things I didn't like and let's just say I'm going to be honest(nothing bad don't worry).
This one turns out to be Hindley's turn to open up about her past and share her secrets and that's what she did.  I was very shocked along with Rory @ finding out what on earth it was. Let's just say Damn girls got moves, although some of it turned out that Rory and myself didn't want to hear/read :(  Don't worry as things started to get good and fine there was a twist that really made the story open up.  I felt like I had my heart ripped open along with Hindley and Rory. I'm glad it got fixed and turned out right.
OK let me talk about the ending which had been bugging me since I finished the story.  I didn't like it don't get me wrong I like the way the story turned out in fact I love how the story turned out I just didn't like the huge jump for Hindley injured and recovering to a center is opened and they were married!! I know right it was like I lost a year somewhere and I was really looking forward to reading about the wedding and baby.  This ending kinda made me feel as if their was a lot more to go one for Hindley and Rory. I feel like their journey was just beginning.  But I also got to read a part from the 3rd book and Let me just say I can't wait :)

So yes I really did enjoy this story and would have to give this one 5 stars out of 5. It deserved it after all the heartache and love in the story it was great!!
