Review: Jacob By: Kris Michaels

What It's About?

Victoria Marshall didn't cooperate by dying in the Afghani hell-hole like the CIA expected. Defying all probability, a privately-funded black ops group led by a handsome, sexy-as-sin southerner pulled her out of the warlord's prison cell and brought her home. Even half out of her mind with pain Tori knew this man was special. She made a date with the commander to meet one year later at a restaurant of his choice. Keeping that date was the best thing she ever did.

Jacob King found little physically attractive about the woman he saved from the warlord’s camp, though it was hard to see what lay under the filth and suppurating wounds she suffered from countless beatings. He admired her brave humor in the face of her agonizing injuries. This kind of tough-minded woman was someone he'd like to know as a friend. He never expected the leggy, blond bomb-shell in the red dress who showed up for their date.

But then he never expected she would save his life, either. In a world of shadows, smoke, and dangerous covert missions, where people routinely vanish and living one more day was never a given, Tori and Jacob fight to build their happily ever after.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this story from the start it really being something different grabs your attention and holds on strong. As I was getting more and more into the story some parts I was just amazed at and others I had to put the story down and walk away for a bit, as in some of it I really didn't care for. I do have to say this is my first time reading anything written by this author, I was amazed at he details she had down and the knowledge that went along with writing something like this. The strong emotions of the characters are out of this world amazing I couldn't help but fall in love with them over and over again. I really liked all the characters and even the not main characters they all seemed to blend and mix really well together, nothing out of place with them. This emotional ride was a sad one at the end and really heart aching for the way it ended I was torn for Doc and Joseph for some reason those 2 males really hit the mark with any readers that is besides Victoria and Jacob anyways. Victoria this strong woman from the start and in no way does she lose that strength for anything, very independent is stuck in a hard place and only wanting one thing freedom once again. Enters the man of the hour Jacob "Skipper" he's a fierce to be reckoned with, alpha man all the way, strong and caring deep down. The drool worthy hunk made this story even more better, the hott scenes between him and Tori are out of this world hot. The minute those 2 meet it's like love was meant for them all the way. 1 year later and that feeling never left. It was amazing story that you never want to end and just want more and more, yes some of it seems like it takes forever to get to the point but in the end it was so worth it. Every word, period, line, feeling was totally worth the read over and over again. MUST READ!! With this story ending you are left craving more and wanting more and more that's for sure. I can't tell you enough how much this story was amazing on every page. So many twist and turns in the story had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. Most defiantly hooked.
