First loves, we all got them. Mine is Slate Declan. He was kind, gentle, and caring. Still, he managed to break my heart. So I put miles between us, and eventually, my heart healed.
I haven’t seen Slate in years, but a couple friends and I are going back to the Bayou for the summer. While I’m visiting my hometown, I’m going to look up Slate Declan. And I plan to break his heart, just as he did mine. I'll remind him of what he has lost, and then I'll prove to him that I’ve moved on.
It should be real easy, right?
Well, let me tell you, Slate Declan is not the same guy that I left behind. And there’s another problem. How do you break someone’s heart when they no longer have one?
Once again I was amazed at this story. I was hooked right from page one and felt like I didn't get a breather in between the stories I wasn't lost picking up where this one started even though it was different main characters and yes before you ask they were in JAX but not as the main characters like this time. As easy as this story was picking it up it was over right before I knew it. I couldn't believe how fast it took me to read this story from the cover to cover. It's a 2 person story that really has emotions super high!! The slight moments of going back into the past and then jumping to the present made it even more worth the read. The characters are amazing and well written as is the whole story, but back on the characters; each one brings something amazing to the table that is well worth getting to know them on each page. Rayne what a really sweet name, shes this head strong woman who knows what her heart wants but can she really stand the truth of what her past has shaped for the future of her love? She makes it work some how with every curve ball that has come her way hell or high water she made it through everything. Slate, handsome, strong and really worth reading about the DOM in him is something to die for. I really enjoyed reading about him overcoming his Demons for the love of his life *swoon*. Very into his past not moving forward, that all blows up in his face when love comes a knocking. Well worth the read that's for sure. MUST READ!!! I highly recommend reading JAX first just to get a feel for what your reading not only that but the author has done a really amazing job tying them into each other. I was able to read this story in 1 day cover to cover. I'm excited and really happy to find out what happens next? Zeke what are you up to I can't wait to know your story the most to really help tie the stories together.
