Review: The Frenchman By: Lesley Young

~ What't It About? ~

Fleur Smithers rarely veers off the straight and (excruciatingly) narrow. So moving to the seaport town of Toulon to live with her newfound biological mother—an inspector with the French National Police—for one year is a pretty major detour.

Son of France’s crime royalty family and international rugby star, Louis Messette, is devoted to his sport, famille and nothing else. But the carefree American he meets one night changes everything. She sparks a desire in him like no other. Possession takes root. She will do as he commands.

Bit by bit Fleur slips into the Frenchman’s realm of wanton pleasure agreeing to his one condition: that she keep their affair secret. She serves up her heart without reservation in the hub of the glittering Côte d’Azur, and the along the soulful Seine in Paris, unaware of the danger she is in. For her new lover’s family business will pit her against her mother, the police woman sworn to bring down the Messettes. And by then, far more than Fleur’s heart will be on the line.

~ My Thoughts ~

Holy amazing batman!!! I couldn't get enough of this story, I was head over heels in love with everything about it. The author has done an amazing and wonderful job with the writing, characters and the story line.  I was completely blown away with the writing, cover to cover read that's for sure. The attention to details had me shocked on just about every page, that of course had something to do with something new on every page. (sorry I'm trying to be spoiler free) The characters are great, each one had a story themselves and had a hint to mystery to them. They always kept me guessing on what was next for them. I was completely in love with Louis Hell I want my very own French Alpha hottie to take me and do with as he pleases lol. It's hott, dirty, mystery and very intrigued. The names are different not something that you normally read in a story but this author really made that work. Hell yea she did!!! It's a MUST READ 1 person POV story, it's attention grabbing cover to the words on the pages really pop out at you and call you in. It's a non stop read, on the edge of the chair read. Being hooked from page 1 is a major plus, just means that for the next day I'm stuck into the story. I of course reached the end and wanted more, I'm left with some wondering thoughts on what's next for Fleur and Louis?  As much as this author made me hooked to her story and love the characters I feel it's only worth 4 stars, it did a lot of self exploring and some parts didn't seem at all of a romance type of story more of a mystery. It's worth the words and the read through. I just feel like maybe more could have been added.
