Review: Withering Hope by: Layla Hagen

~ What's It About? ~

***This is a STANDALONE***

*** Withering Hope is the story of a man who desperately needs forgiveness and the woman who brings him hope. It is a story in which hope births wings and blooms into a love that is as beautiful and intense as it is FORBIDDEN. ***

Aimee’s wedding is supposed to turn out perfect. Her dress, her fiancé and the location—the idyllic holiday ranch in Brazil—are perfect.

But all Aimee’s plans come crashing down when the private jet that’s taking her from the U.S. to the ranch—where her fiancé awaits her—defects mid-flight and the pilot is forced to perform an emergency landing in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

With no way to reach civilisation, being rescued is Aimee and Tristan’s—the pilot—only hope. A slim one that slowly withers away, desperation taking its place. Because death wanders in the jungle under many forms: starvation, diseases. Beasts.

As Aimee and Tristan fight to find ways to survive, they grow closer. Together they discover that facing old, inner agonies carved by painful pasts takes just as much courage, if not even more, than facing the rainforest.

Despite her devotion to her fiancé, Aimee can’t hide her feelings for Tristan—the man for whom she’s slowly becoming everything. You can hide many things in the rainforest. But not lies. Or love.

Withering Hope is the story of a man who desperately needs forgiveness and the woman who brings him hope. It is a story in which hope births wings and blooms into a love that is as beautiful and intense as it is forbidden.

Note: This novel is recommended for 18+ due to sexual content and mature themes.

~ My Thoughts ~

This was such an amazing story that I don’t think I have enough words to really say about it. At first I had a hard time getting into it as it really didn't grab my attention but then like around the time the story turned from a normal plane ride I was hooked then. It took me only a short amount to read the story from work and home time, but however I couldn't stop thinking about it. The author did an amazing job with the details and the story it self. You can since the amount of research that went into this story by the way it’s told.

The characters are something else all together. They really make this story shine I really loved Amiee and Tristan about mid way through the book when they couldn't get enough of being around each other. However I felt for them close to the end they damn near broke my heart hell I know the ending did that I had those ugly tears rolling down my face with no care in the world, only thinking that I want a love like theirs. It’s strong and undefeatable. They mean the world to each other.

I wish I could say that I want more I really do but the way the story ended it was indeed a stand alone novel. The heartbreaking end I just can’t stop thinking about it. It’s that same feeling when you watch the end of the Notebook you know what happens but can’t help but cry anyways. It’s wonderful. I loved the time I spent reading it I would love to read it again and again hell this 2 POV journey was filled with hurt, love, passion, romance, friendship and even truths. It’s a Must Read!! The ending is the most saddest thing I have ever read, it makes you think about your life and not take anything for granted.
