Review: A Fighter's Desire By: L.P. Dover

~ What's It About? ~

A Fighter's Desire contains two prequel novellas to introduce the main characters in the series. IT IS ONLY TO INTRODUCE THEM. They're happily ever after's will come, but it doesn't happen in this book. (Fair warning) Each fighter will have his own book where their stories will continue and end to that HEA everyone wants.

Two is always better than one.

Knowing a fighter’s desires and needs are one thing, but actually experiencing them is another. A Fighter’s Desire gives you not one, but two stories full of hardcore passion, angst, and action that’ll leave you breathless and aching for more.

Part One: Ryley and Camden Jameson, well-known MMA fighters and identical twins, were just as aggressive and passionate in the bed as they were in the ring. They loved a good fight, and that’s exactly what they got when they met Ashleigh Warren. The brothers had a habit of sharing things—including women—and she happened to be the only one they truly craved. However, the problem was getting her to agree to their proposition. It was one she couldn't refuse, but she knew it wouldn't be easy to win. Nonetheless, she sure as hell was going to enjoy it.

Part Two: Fighting temptation isn't easy when you’re constantly around the one person you’ve desired more than any other. Gabriella Reynolds was warned by her brother, MMA Heavyweight Champion Matt Reynolds, to stay away from his friends; they only wanted one thing, and in the end they’d break her heart. She heard it, but the desire to have the one man she couldn't led her down the forbidden path to pursue him; he also happens to be one of her brother’s best friends. Tyler Rushing can’t deny his attraction to her, and he’s afraid she’ll want more than what he can give her. When he finds out that’s not the case … everything changes. They have no choice but to keep their time a secret, and it’s a secret that’ll stay with them forever.

~ My Thoughts ~

Wow I started and basically finished this story in 1 complete day I couldn't put it down at all.  Since I have already read Tyler's Undoing I was more caught up on everyone's story and the history between Tyler and Gabby which man it really cleared things up for me. This was one story I was happy to read as much as it was a short story I couldn't get over how wonderful they are. This is not my first rodeo with the author and really have to say she still blows my mind with he writing!!!  Just when I think one of her stories couldn't get any better she hits me with an amazing one like this one and I'm a goner once again.

Since this had 2 stories and I really don't want to give spoilers on either one trust me when I say you want to read these. Anyways since these are 2 different stories they each had 2 person POVs to them and let me tell you they are HOTT. Hell even the characters are drool worthy and let me tell you the pile of drool just kept expending with each page turn it's that damn hott and sexy all wrapped into one with of course super hott alpha males in each. Heck the males are enough in the story to blow your mind.

I was over all shocked at how fast I read this story and then even more shocked that  I was hooked once again and completely in love with the story I can't wait for more and I'm super excited that both stories left me on a cliffhanger but I have a feeling I know what's going to happen next for Ryley.. He's just so damn sexy He might be my favorite fighter so far!!!

~ My Rating ~

~ Excerpt ~

Part 1

“How do you know I don’t care about you in that way?”

“Because it’s you we’re talking about, Ryley. You can have anyone you desire, and the last thing you’re going to want is to get involved with me. Women follow you around everywhere, and as much as I think you’re a great guy, I don’t think I could handle it.”

“Do you not think I’m capable of treating you well? To stay faithful?” he asked.

I burst out laughing, but my smile quickly faded when I looked over at him and saw his serious blue gaze. “You’re kidding, right?” When he shook his head, I sighed and shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know, Ryley. From what I know about you and your past with women, I’d have to say trust would be a main issue. You can’t have a relationship without it.”

“So you don’t trust me.” It came out more as a statement than a question.

Regretfully, I blew out a sigh and said, “No, I don’t … at least, not with my heart.”

Part 2

Breathing hard, I stepped out of Tyler’s reach and started for the door, much to his dismay. “Why are you here, Gabriella?”

Keeping my back to him, I paused with my hand on the knob, and blew out a heavy sigh. “I told you. When I want something, I get it. I wanted to see you.”

“You’re walking a dangerous line, Gabriella. I don’t do relationships, and I don’t plan on starting … even if it is with you.”

I glanced at him over my shoulder. “Well, then I guess it’s a good thing I don’t want one with you either. Look, Tyler, I’m only here for the weekend. If you want to see me again you know how to find me. No strings, just you and me.”
