Blog Tour & Review: Soul Scavengers Wilde and the Witch By: Lisagh J. Winters

~ What's It About? ~

Psychic medium Olivia Emerson is young, gutsy, and out to prove she’s got what it takes to hang with the big boys. Although haunted by a past that threatens to consume her, Olivia accepts a job on a snow covered island that could make or break her career. She just needs to keep her past where it belongs- behind her. She knows this job could be her foot in the door, and hopefully the vehicle she needs to break into the business and take the next step up. The only problem; she’ll be working with him.

Paranormal investigator Sullivan Wilde has a healthy dislike for anyone claiming to hear or communicate with spirits. To him, they’re all frauds. He learned firsthand that just because you want to believe, doesn't make it real.

When Sullivan’s forced to work with Olivia, he’s not happy about it. She exasperates him, pushes his buttons, and doesn't have a shut off valve for that mouth of hers. He doesn't believe in her ‘gift’, and makes no apologies for it. Yet, as much as he tries to deny it, there’s something about Olivia that gets under his skin. The moment they’re left alone on the dock of the island, devoid of living inhabitants, everything changes. Some unhappy spirits, coupled with Olivia and Sullivan’s burgeoning feelings for one another leave them with no choice but to rely on one another if they want to make it through the night. Can Sullivan and Olivia put their differences aside in order to finish the job and walk out alive?

“You heard me, Ghost Man, now please, will you step away from there? You’re scaring the crap out of me!”
He grabbed a hold of one of the columns and leaned his body out over the ledge. “Come on Ollie, where’s
“Sullivan, please! Stop it!” she begged him.
“All right,” he gave in, and set himself back over the floor, safely away from the thirty foot drop. “I didn’t know you were afraid of heights, Ollie. But here’s the thing, it wasn’t you hanging off the building, it was me.”
She whacked him in the arm once he was close enough. “It doesn’t matter! That was really stupid and irresponsible! All it takes is one little slip. What if you had fallen? What then? You’d be frigging dead!”
“At least I’d still have you to talk to,” he tormented her.
your sense of adventure?” he teased. “WooHoo! I’m a flying Wallenda!”

~ My Thoughts ~

OK so this story is a complete opposite of what I thought it was going to be like. It was BETTER!!! To be honest I was confused in the start like royally confused I almost gave up, then BAM the tables turned and it was better much better. lol. I'd loved the characters, Olivia and her sharp don't take nothing attitude, makes her a strong person for it. Sullivan is this Asshat that says what he wants, how he wants without a care in the world. I really liked both characters. This story was written really well it had it's moments of doubt but they quickly went away.

I have to say the story is a catch, I turned the pages as fast as my fingers would allow that it, nothing was hard to understand a few chapters in of course. lol Anyways this was a new paranormal read for me I've never felt compelled to a story as much as I was to this one. I felt like I was getting ready to go on a Ghost hunt or whatever you call those lol. The Author did a good job with this story, deff left the story off with you wanting more of the weird way the romance is in this story not all hott and steamy like others I have read, but more laid back like the past is always around the corner and the characters are on alert waiting for the next horror to come around. The hole trapped on the island while getting rid of evil spirits was amazing that hole part just blew my mind away. Loved It!!! lol

I would have to recommend this story to every paranormal lover out their, this is one that I can honestly say no one has read something like this before. lol heck I can't wait now for the 2nd story I'm in aww to find out what happens with Sullivan and Olivia. That is one love story to be really happy about that and all the weirdness they both bring to the table, heck how kewl is it that she can talk and see the dead that is freaking awesome in itself. I've always wished I could do something like that.

~ Excerpt #2 ~

“You? You’re the clairvoyant?” This had to be a joke somebody was playing on him, and it pissed him right off. He made a mental note to choke Arnav when he got back home. “How old are you, fifteen?” No wonder she took the bus. She was a damned kid, probably too young to drive!
“Nice to meet you, too.” Olivia frowned and followed him around the vehicle. “Fifteen? What are you, blind?”
He gave her an appreciative glance up and down her dripping frame. “Absolutely not, I assure you. So answer the question. Do I need to sign some sort of parental permission slip?” he asked, turning away from her and digging through his pockets for a pen.

~ Excerpt #3 ~

“Ollie look, it doesn’t matter what I want. That isn’t going to help you get ahead. I want to see you succeed. What I say about this trip will go a long way to help with that.” He cast his gaze upward, steeling himself to say the words he knew he had to say. “I’m really impressed by you, and not because of that ghost-be-gone shtick you do. Uh-uh.” Sullivan leveled his eyes to hers and gave a remorseful sigh. “You showed grit, determination, and you haven’t tried to kill me with your bare hands. My producer predicted you might try. The fact that you didn’t run cryin’ your eyes out from the place after first contact was impressive enough all on its own. I’ve watched a lot of grown-ass men bail from an investigation, and that wasn’t the least bit reassuring,” he told her. “I know how you feel, and if it’s any consolation, Ollie, I know what I’m missing out on.”
