Walking away from her was the hardest decision I ever made. Leaving her without an explanation broke us both. Our hearts have been left shattered. I could make excuses. I could lay the blame on others, but still I made the decision. I had to. It was the only way to protect the both of them.
After all of Allie’s loss, my thought was only on her and her happiness. On her love and need for her big brother. I was replaceable, Kyle wasn’t. I wouldn’t allow him to crush her heart with his death. I knew I had follow him. I would throw myself on top of bombs, in front of bullets, whatever it took to get him home to her, alive. There are two sides to every story, and you’ve only heard one. Don’t be so quick to judge; I hate myself for what I’ve done. But all that I did, it was all for Allie.

~My Thoughts~
I personally really enjoyed getting Wyatt's POV of what happened before him and Kyle took off. This short small story helped but a lot of things from Shattered and Shaken make sense. I felt like I cried more in this one then book 1, I think that's because I could actually feel the love for Allie from Wyatt in stead of the bad thoughts of him in the first book. The Author really did do a great job with this one. I normally don't read that in between books, sometimes they don't make since and they end up throwing me off track, this was not the case It helped in fact.
I did feel it got cut off short it just talked about what he did before leaving Allie that is. What happened after the BIG part(I don't want to say it's juicy you might just want to get your own copy then). *tear* It was good I have to say. This story was a 1 person POV and I don't think it would have sounded better if their was more, only because this is the story about Wyatt threw his eyes. The Romance that was in this story I really wish I could get it like this at home lol *hint hint husband of mine*. That was just beautiful he really knows how to take care of someone, right down to the Sex part.
Overall this was a great half story from book 1 and I'm glad that I got the chance to read more about who Wyatt really is and read about what actually happened why the choices where made for Allie to begin with.
Grab a copy and read, this is a must read of course after you read Shattered and Shaken that is.

ReplyDeleteLately I've been getting into Army type romances and I actually never heard of this series. I just checked out your other review for Shattered and Shaken and this definitely sounds like a series I would enjoy reading. Oh, and you are not alone. I rarely read the in between stories/novellas, mainly because I feel like they are just teases. But sometime they are worth reading, to fill in the gaps.
