Review: Hopeless Vows By: Rachael Duncan

What It's About?

It was a modern take on an arranged marriage that was supposed to lead to my happily ever after. The rules were simple:

1. Marry a complete stranger chosen for you by professionals.
2. Live together as man and wife for eight weeks while cameras record your every move.
3. Make a decision to stay together or get a divorce.

Call me crazy, but I had complete faith in the process, until I saw who was waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

Austin James has never met me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know him. With no other choice, I say my vows and pray I can make it through the next eight weeks. Then I’ll leave. What connects us is my best kept secret, and I’ll protect it at all costs even if that means walking away from the only person I’ve ever cared about.

My Thoughts

So I really had to open up my mind when reading this story I almost felt like it was done before which is partly true I have read a book similar to this but I didn't want to compare them to each other so I had to open my mind up way up. This was amazing the author has done an unremarkable thing with her writing and the style of this story. I was blown away with how the story took off and became on of love. Everything was amazing then bam changed then bam changed again and again I couldn't keep up my head was spinning out of control at wrap speed. I couldn't stop reading that's for sure yes it might have taken me a but to read it from cover to cover but it still doesn't beat the fact of how amazing it really is. I know that in some of the story I couldn't stop reading which lead to not being able to place the story down at all, then some of the story I got so mad at the characters I had no choice but to put it down and walk away for a little bit. Normally at those points I wanted to smack Austin and really throat punch Jillian. They had my head spinning around and around and of course right along with that had my emotions even bonkers. Some of this story I couldn't help but get the feel that I was reading the other story. But normally within the next few pages I was thrown out of that story and back on track. I really enjoyed the way the characters got to know each other as us readers got to know them.  This was an all out feel good novel one that I so would love to read more about. yes I admit that I want more of these characters, it didn't seem like I got enough of them. The crazy banter, sex, love and lies really tore me up and had me of course turning the page more. Austin this real down to earth man wants love for once, he's caring, gentle and all around great guy one that you could be so very proud to bring home to meet the parents. Jillian, very independent woman, strong, caring and  heart she hides the most. I don't really know what I feel for her, in a way she was my least favorite character that is up till a few chapters at the end when she grew a pair and let everyone have it. Anyways enough about them before I give the damn story away, it's a MUST read story with a 2 person POV. I'm happy with the way it ended and how the story really unfolded the after the lies, truths, fights, love and loads and loads of heart ache, that really had me feeling for the characters. I wanted to shake them both from all the heartache they were giving me. The semi fast pace story is one to really pay attention to all the details flow great and make the pace of the story worth it in the end.  Some of the story I'm still wrapping my head around and trying to make sense of what happened. This journey was great, and I so couldn't have been happier that I was on it.  I have read this author's work before and it so didn't have the same effect on me as this one does, way better.
