Blurb: As Vice President of the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club, I’ve spent a lot of years as a hit-it-and-quit-it player only seeking a good time. Willing women are never in short supply.
More than one night? No thanks.
Until I met her.
My perfect woman. Like a damn mermaid, she was beautiful, smart, sexy, and slippery as fuck.
I thought I’d convinced her we’d be good together long-term, but then she disappeared without a word.
Three years.
That’s how long it’s been since I saw her.
Took me a while, but I finally moved on.
Then out of nowhere, my mythical woman resurfaces.
She forgot to mention one little thing before she vanished.
One small secret growing up into a big lie.
It’s a betrayal too deep to overcome.
I should hate her.
Even though she’s heartbreak wrapped in a seductive package.
I want her more than ever.
*Can be read as a standalone.

Excerpt: Lilly
I guess I had that coming. Of course, Z has girls calling him. I’m surprised there haven’t been more honestly.
It was obvious from the look on his face, she wasn’t an employee from the club.
At least he’s polite enough to go outside.
Pretending it doesn’t bother me, I concentrate on the schedule I was writing out for Z.
The door quietly shuts, and I force myself not to look up at Z. If he says he has to leave, it’s going to hurt, which is stupid, so I’d rather just pretend he’s not even here.
“Sorry about that.” The couch dips as Z reclaims his spot.
“That’s okay.” I rip off the top sheet of the notepad and hand it to him. “It’s only a rough schedule.” I’m so nervous, unsettled, whatever you want to call it, my shoulders jerk. I stand and tug my stupid dress down. “I’m tired. I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Lilly, wait.” He grabs for my hand as I pass, but I yank it away. My bare leg brushes against the rough fabric of his jeans and there’s a stirring inside me I haven’t felt in a long time. Maybe not since the last—
Nope. Don’t go there.
Fast, I walk out of the room and slam the door to my bedroom shut. Tears threaten to fall, which just makes me angry. I’m still holding the pen and notepad in my hand and I chuck them against the wall.
“Lilly.” The door opens, bumping into me, knocking me forward. “Shit, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t you knock?” I turn, hoping my glare is enough to chase him off.
Click. He closes the door oh so quietly and stands there. Head cocked, eyes roaming over me.
“What’s the matter?”
There’s the silent, cocky, smug Z I remember. He’s been off his game since we ran into each other. My fault, I know. But I figured this part of him would resurface eventually.
“Nothing. I told you. I’m tired.” I curl my fingers into the skirt of my dress and flap the material around. “I want to change.”
I tilt my head toward the door, hoping he’ll take the hint and get out.
But no, he crosses his arms over his chest and continues to stare at me.
“Do you need help opening the door?”
He squints. “Are you mad at me?”
“No. I’m tired,” I answer slowly.
I try to edge past him, but he grabs my arm, and spins me around, pulling me into his arms.
Oh shit.
My back hits the door with a thud and he swoops in, kissing the small, surprised cry away.
This is bad.
My hands explore his shoulders and creep up into his hair. It’s cut short, almost buzzed, not nearly enough to curl my fingers in the way I used to.
So bad.
I pull away and he growls, dragging me back. “Z, wait. What are we doing?”
He squeezes his eyes shut and shakes his head. “I’m sorry,” I whisper, touching his cheek. “So—”
“Stop.” He shakes off my hand. “I don’t want to want you this way. I’m fucking furious with you.”
“I know,” I whisper.
“You haven’t even told me why.”
And I never will.
I swallow hard and look away. The pain in his voice kills me. Because I put it there and I can’t undo it.
He reaches for me again, settling his hand on my hip, playing with my dress. “This has been driving me nuts all night.”
I bat my eyelashes and peek up at him. “Well, I was trying to change into something else.”
He lets out another growl and the hand on my hip tightens. He picks me up, moving me away from the door. His mouth crashes against mine. Confident. In charge. This is the Z I remember.

Synopsis

Captain Dorian Rae is a wounded soul who gets his greatest pleasures from being in the great outdoors and soaring the skies. When he has a life-changing encounter with a beauty on Washington State’s High Steel Bridge, he never anticipates that one meeting would have an enduring effect on him and change their worlds forever.

But fate seems determined to throw them together when she repeatedly shows up not only in his dreams but also in reality, and in his past when he finds out that she played a role in the death of his best friend.

When a seemingly impossible friendship develops between the two, the lines between friendship and romantic relationship become blurred and Dorian’s efforts to stay out of a relationship—especially with a woman with such a tattered past―comes into question.

While her past catches up with their present, and disapproving family and friends enter the mix, the already deep-seated conflict that at first kept these two people apart, now threatens to break them up forever.

Love On High Steel Bridge will take you through high altitudes and to some devastating lows. If you like suspense, steamy love scenes and unexpected plot twists, come with Captain Rae as he flies the skies on this riveting journey.

Excerpt - Their First Encounter...

“Don’t jump,” I plead with the woman teetering on the edge of the rail of High Steel Bridge, Washington. She’s close to falling three hundred plus feet to her death.

She swiftly turns to me, a blackened stream of tears leaks from her beautiful, emerald eyes.

An explosion erupts in my chest as I get near her. “Whatever it is, you’ll get through it, but it’s not worth your life.”

I take a step closer, hoping to get nearer in case she ignores my appeal.

“I have nothing left,” she cries. “I’ve hurt and lost my family and everyone I care about. My kids hate me. All I’ve done is cause everyone heartache and pain. I have nothing to live for…I have nothing to offer them…they’d all be better off without me.”

“I doubt that’s true.”

She looks down and for a second, I think she’s going to jump.

“Please don’t!” I step closer to her and stretch out my hand. “Please. My name is Dorian—Dorian Rae. Please, let me help you.”

“You don’t know me…you don’t want to know me,” she sobs. “I’m a horrible person. I’ve done horrendous things and I’ve hurt innocent people, and no matter what I do, I could never, ever fix it. I could never give back what I took from them. No matter what I do, I will never make it right. Everyone would be better off if I weren’t here.”

Sweat trickles down my brow as I try to figure out what to say to this woman to stop her from taking her life.

I make another attempt. “I’m here. And if you’d like someone to talk to, I’d be willing to listen.” I slowly step closer to her. If I lunged forward, I could probably grab her wrist, but I don’t want to startle her with sudden movements and cause her to fall over.

I stretch my palm toward her. “Take my hand. Let’s give this another try. I’ll listen. I’m here to help you. Or maybe there’s someone else you’d prefer I call?”

“No. I’d be doing them all a favor if I were out of their lives. Thanks for trying to help…but this would be best for everyone. If I’m gone, I can’t hurt anyone—I can’t cause any more pain.”

“Look, I understand things are rough but please…”

She looks me in the eye. “I’m sorry.”

The gushing waterfall below fills the air accompanied by her sobs. She slightly lifts one of her feet as if to step to her death when I leap toward her, grab her wrist and pull her off the railing and into my arms where we both crash onto the road.

Finally.

I breathe.

I sit with this woman in my arms where for minutes her sobs echo through the clean air as she clutches onto me tightly and bawls. My shoulders relax as I hold her.

It then occurs to me that I’ve never seen someone in such intense pain although I can relate to it.
My chest clenches as I hold her in my arms and in some way, though I know nothing of her troubles, I feel this inexplicable connection to her and find myself relating to her pain.  “It’s going to be okay,” I whisper, gently stroking her long, jet-black hair. “You’ll make it through this. I’ve been there. I know it’s hard but give it some time.”
As I comfort her, a black and pink backpack catches my attention on the sidewalk. It matches her shoes so it must be hers. It looks like she’d been hiking. However, would she be hiking alone in such a secluded area? If she came up here for the sole purpose of killing herself, why bring camping gear?

“I’m sorry.” She backs away from my hold. “Thanks for your help.”

She rises to her feet, picks up her bag and walks toward the other side of the bridge where cars are parked.

“Wait.” I run to catch up with her. “Let me get you some help or take you to a hospital.”

“I’ll be fine. Thanks,” she responds still in tears.

My fear that she’ll try this again prompts me to hold her wrist. “You shouldn’t be alone. Let me help you. If you like, I’ll stay with you while you call a friend or a family member, or I can take you to the nearest hospital myself.”

“I don’t know you—”

“My name is Dorian Rae.” I slip my hands into my pocket, pull out my wallet, retrieve my driver’s license and my airline ID and show it to her.

Through her tears, she looks at it, then me in silence but does not respond.

“Look, I will not leave you here alone. Either we call someone you’re close to or you let me take you to the hospital. Otherwise, I’ll call the police. And I doubt I’ll get a signal up here so that leaves you with only one option. Come on, you shouldn’t be alone.”

I take her backpack from her hand and extend my open palm toward her. “Let me help you. Please.”

Hesitantly, she stretches out her hand to meet mine while soft sobs leave her lips.
“Did you drive up here?”

She nods.“Well, I’ll take you to the hospital and we’ll worry about getting your car after.” She murmurs a soft okay when we arrive at the parking area.  “May I ask your name? If you’re uncomfortable, you don’t have to tell me.”  She looks down and shakes her head as silent tears continue down her cheeks.

There are three vehicles here including mine. I open the door on the passenger side to allow her into my car, slip our backpacks into the backseats and take pictures of the remaining two vehicles before I get into the seat beside her. If she’s not comfortable telling me her name, I doubt she would want to tell me which of the two vehicles she owns.

I start the ignition and turn to her. “It’s okay. I’m going to take you to the nearest hospital. If there is anything else I can do for you, let me know, okay?”

Looking down, she nods in acknowledgment.

We drive along the wooded and sometimes barren road mostly in silence. The occasional sniffling from her tears are the only sounds invading the quiet air.

The late afternoon sun is leaving for the day. Fifteen minutes later, when I get to US Highway 101, a signal comes through on my cell phone and I find out the nearest hospital is fifteen minutes away.

She stays in the car when I pull up to the emergency room.

Is she scared?

After the last hour, I could only imagine that she might be. I tell the first nurse I see why she’s here. However, when I explain that I don’t know her, not even her name, they tell me they’ll take it from there.

The nurse walks out with a wheelchair to my vehicle and helps her out.

“Would you like me to stay with you?” I ask.

“No, thank you,” she whispers. “You’ve done enough.”

“We’ll handle it,” the nurse says to me.

I grab her bag from the back seat and hand it to her along with my business card. “If you ever need anyone to talk to, please call me.”

She whispers a soft, “Thank you.”

I watch the nurse wheel her away until she disappears from my view.

It’s not a wicked world that drives a man to sin, it’s a deranged mind. Baptized in dirty water by Satan himself, I’ve spent my whole life fighting the good fight, searching for the light in the darkness of insanity. Now, the light I’ve basked in for so long is finally dimming and the time has come for me to take my final bow before the curtain closes on my sanity. After making a deal with the district attorney and providing my club with full immunity for the crimes we’ve committed, I have twenty-four hours to remind my wife, Reina, why she fell in love with a bastard like me before I turn myself in and break her heart. But twenty-four hours isn’t enough. Not for me and certainly not for the Devil. Tragedy strikes, and my world implodes. It’s lights out for Jack and Reina and a man can’t survive without his sunshine. Engulfed in darkness, consumed by the crazy, I’m a weapon of mass destruction, ready to wreak havoc on the wicked world. Word to the wise—proceed with caution, motherf*ckers. The Bulldog is back!

.•´✶Excerpt•´
Parrish: Humor Me, Sunshine ©Copyright 2019 Janine Infante Bosco I still remember the first time Jack ever took me for a ride on his motorcycle. I was in a bad place in my life, still reeling from the fire I survived and grieving the man who perished in those flames—the man who would’ve been my husband. Ironically, that man was also Jack’s brother, Daniel. I never allowed myself to wonder what life might’ve been like if Daniel survived and Jack never walked into Dee’s diner. Back then I couldn’t picture loving anyone other than Daniel and I certainly never expected to fall in love with his brother. They were complete opposites in every sense. Daniel was a Federal Agent and Jack the ultimate outlaw. Yet the moment Jack walked into Dee’s diner, something inside me knew my life was truly just beginning. The years that had come before Jack Parrish were just a prelude to one of the greatest love stories ever written. In between chapters, I realized I never knew love until Jack was the one loving me. His love has been the greatest gift of my life and while the tragic end of our story may be approaching, we still have a few more pages to fill. To fill with love. To fill with hope. To fill with all the things that have kept us together, pushing through the darkness, overcoming every obstacle that’s threatened to ruin us. We have survived death, bombs, hearing loss, a mad mind and a cold world. We’ll survive goodbye too, for what choice do we have? Part of me wants to yell at him and tell him to forget the deal, to choose me and our story over everything and anything but that would be asking Jack to change the core of who he is, and I won’t do that. I fell in love with a flawed outlaw challenged by an illness he can’t control and that’s who I will die loving. I lean my chin on his shoulder and wrap my arms tightly around his middle, leaning into the curve as he turns into our driveway. We come to a complete stop and he drops his boots onto the concrete, balancing the bike between his thick thighs as he kills the rumbling engine. He drops the kickstand and covers my hands with his. “Home sweet home,” he murmurs. I wonder if he realizes how powerful those three words are and that my home isn’t the brick house standing in front of us but the man I’m clinging to. Pressing a kiss to my cheek, he slides my hands away from his chest and dismounts from the bike. I watch, just as I have so many times before, as he pulls his fingerless gloves from his hands and shoves them into his back pocket. Next, he removes his helmet and hangs it from the handlebars before turning to me and offering his hand. It’s a scene we’ve played hundreds of times and one I never cared to cherish until this very moment. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I place my hand in his and the callouses brushing against my palm are proof the years of riding have taken their toll on more than just his mind. Helping me off the bike, he removes my helmet and tucks it under his arm instead of hanging it next to his like he usually does. “You never taught me how to ride,” I whisper hoarsely, lifting my eyes to his. It’s not something I ever wanted to do. In fact, it was more of a joke between us than it was ever a promise. “Yeah, well we both know I’m a selfish fuck,” he mutters, pulling me into the crook of his arm. “I’m not sorry for it either,” he adds. “I don’t want you riding without me.” Truth be told, I won’t ever ride again after today. Not with him and certainly not by myself. I warmed up to the role of old lady, but I am far from a biker. “My days of riding end with your days, Parrish,” I reply as we keep in stride with one another. Making our way up the stoop, neither of us pay any mind to the officers who tailed us to our home. Once we reach the door, he digs into his pocket for the keys. I stare at him, counting the lines on his face, committing them to my memory. He unlocks the door and pushes it open before turning to me. “What?” I ask. “Close your eyes,” he says. “Jack—” “Humor me, Sunshine.” I don’t want to close my eyes because I don’t want to miss a single second, I have left with him, but I do as he asks. A second later he lifts me into his arms and I feel his lips gently graze mine. “Now, open them and look at me,” he demands hoarsely. Again, I do as he requests, wrapping my arms around his neck as I stare into his dark eyes. “Never did carry you over the threshold,” he continues. “Seems a little overdue.” This man. Fractured and flawed. I wished for this man—I prayed for him as a young girl. He may not have been cloaked in leather, and the horse he rode in on may not have been made of chrome, but nonetheless he’s still the prince in my fairytale. He carries me over the threshold and gives me a hint of the smile I love. It’s a rare feat for my tortured prince and I’m just as spellbound by it as I was the day, he first gave it to me. “I never deserved you,” he says as he touches his forehead to mine. “That’s not true,” I whisper, lifting my hand to his cheek. He deserved so much more than me. He deserved peace and tranquility, both of which he’ll never get. Instead of walking towards peace he’ll forever run towards chaos. “You changed me, Reina,” he murmurs. “You put your hand in mine and never looked back. You made me better than I was and gave me a reason to keep going when you gave me your heart,” he pauses for a beat, lifting his thumb to wipe away my tears as he swallows. “I’ve never had someone love me like you loved me,” he rasps. “Don’t talk about us like we’re in the past,” I beg, bringing my hands to his cheeks. “I’ll always love you Jack Parrish. A love like ours doesn’t die.” He nods, drawing in a deep breath. “I love you, Reina. Don’t you forget that.” “Never.” With another peck to my lips, he sets me down on my feet and drags me into his strong embrace. The scent of his cologne mixed with leather and gasoline assaults my senses as I cling to him. I wish I could bottle it up so when I’m alone at night I’ll still be able to smell him.
