Taima, a.k.a. Tai, is the last person people come to for help. He’s the fuck up…the bad boy…the guy that only looks out for himself.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
He’s fought hard to become the man he is today. He’s a hero in the public’s eye. A firefighter that the young all the way to the old turn to for help at the lowest point in their lives.
What people don’t know, though, is that he’s no hero. He’s the reason his sister is dead, and he’ll spend the rest of his life trying to right that wrong.
Then one split second decision has him coming face to face with Mia Darling. The woman changes his life, making him reevaluate everything he thought he had figured out, and showing him the tenderness he never knew he needed.
Just like always, though, his luck runs out.
When the smoke settles, Mia’s gone, and Tai realizes there’s no way he can live the rest of his life without her. He’ll show her just how hard a bad boy will fight to get his woman back, and he’s not opposed to fighting dirty.

This was so emotional right from the start even the end was a tear jerker. I haven't read a story like this from Lani before so I was in shock at this one. Once again this author has really captured my attention in only a matter of minutes. I was so engrossed in the story that I couldn't believe it was over when it was. Mia this amazing and strong woman really makes you get hooked into the story not only her but Tai as well. She's this young woman who had everything going for her until one day it wasn't the greatest anymore and sorrow just takes her over. The pain Mia goes through is really hard one, but she comes out so strong in the end. Tai is this alpha of a male with a heart of gold, strong and caring, the all around bad boy. He gets thrown into teh hardship with Mia and not wanting love finds it at the most odd of times. They really are a great couple and the journey they take to becoming this couple is one full of sex, love, and caring with both their hearts on their sleeves. Enough about them I don't want to give to many spoilers away. The title of the story really fits they story well, the shock factor is over the moon, every page was something new happening that left you wanting more. The craving didn't go away the closer I came to the end, I just couldn't help myself in wanting more and more. It's a MUST READ 2 person POV story that will get your tear ducts working that's for sure. I was also so happy to know that others where in this story from the other series although I don't know much about the Freebird series I know of Winter and Jacks story. Tai and Mai make you laugh, cry and just about do all of the above its one of those you can't put down reads and one you don't want to put down this rough and crazy journey they went on was one I was happy to take. I felt the love and happiness on all the pages including the most intense sad parts as well. I so recommend reading this story over and over again.

 My Rating

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
